True. Chinese women are extremely materialistic, egoistical and domineering. Especially the modern career women kind.
And if you're over 30 and unmarried, you're regarded as "leftovers" as a woman and their marriage market value drops off steeply.
So they only have a rather short window of 10 - 15 years in their prime to find a suitable man. And of course they all seek only the top 20% of bachelors and rarely want to compromise.
Problem is: modern Chinese women are generally of rather unpleasant and demanding character and most men gain nothing from marriage because prostitutes are cheaper and more available. It's a high risk - low reward proposition. Especially for men of means, as they can easily be made homeless and destitute by their wives.
This new law seeks to remedy this a bit, but i doubt it'll be enough.
