Is Keir Starmer becoming the Joe Biden of British politics?
His blocking of attempts to replace him, despite the likely drubbing Labour will receive in tomorrow's local elections, and his falling personal popularity, might repeat Biden's unwillingness to give way until it was too late to allow a democratic recovery for his party.
One might also argue that Labour still has time to recover the democratic initiative but Starmer's blocking also makes things easier for rival parties!
