yeah! US outlets supply half the power or less compared to countries with 240V systems
you can still kill/injure yourself with US outlets but i've been shocked with mains voltage before and it doesn't really hurt
on the flip side you're more likely to be shocked with the US system because our electrical standards are *much* lower than europe (less familiar with other parts of the world)
