I learned about #Nostr about 3-4 years ago, with #Iris and few more.
Then, when i got into #Ordinals in January 2023, i've seen it used in OpenOrdex open source marketplace - #PSBTs traded over Nostr, amazing. Looked over its source, of course - terrible, slow, fully client-side shit. But it did the job in the time.
Now, 2024, here we go again. There's over 100 NIPs, several hundred apps and clients (most with pretty bad experience to me), and a whole crypto value-for-value economy around #Bitcoin and #Lightning. Tho, i don't like Lightning at all.
So.. lets share some apps and things:
- for managing keys - Nsec.app (npub1uf9…v8xc) for sure, supports NIP46 / "bunkers"
- for clients - openvibe (npub1pls…kx8j) and current (npub1cur…sh3w)
- for the apple fan bois - damus (npub18m7…q955) and nos.social (npub1pu3…tfch)
- forget Iris/Snort (same code), Amethyst, and Primal - most promoted but.. blah
- and Noskey - for check all your keys associated/derived from your #Nostr private key - keys like bitcoin/litecoin taproot addresses, public keys, ssh keys, ed25519 keys, nostr git nrepo, hex-ed keys, and etc..
The nip05.social would been cool (same addr for nip5 and LN) if it actually gave verified accounts.. i mean.. i set the wgw@protonostr.com and i don't have a check mark. Tho, i like the cool simple nsec.app domain, until i get a full suite in WGW.lol ;)

## Diversify your client use
It's fine to start with Primal but don't stop there. We have a gazillion different clients and they all need users. Do not stick with the first thing they give you. You are in control. Act on it. I for example love to use coracle.social or iris.to
## Follow many
Nostr clients don't shove content into your face. That means it requires a little more effort from you to curate your own experience. Follow more people than on Twitter. Also, use this as an opportunity to follow completely different people than you did before. I for example follow Pegah (nprofile…80dn) for rug inspirations.
## Run a relay
Are you a gangster who can step up and provide for his community or not? Are you a net consumer or a net producer? That's basically the question. Run relays, seed torrents, install nodes, set up mints, open PRs. Be a gangster.
