Turkey is looking to revive a land route from Baku to the Mediterranean as a way of avoiding trade passing through the Strait of Hormuz... of course the Tangerine Tyrant has also suggested such a thing, but as it would actually pass across Turkey, they seem more likely to deliver such a trade alternative than Trump's geo-fantasy.
It's not a short-term solution but might be regarded as drawing Iran's sting in the medium term over trade routes?
