This is speculation, of course, but here we go.
Year one: successful independent replications around the world.
Year five: small private companies offer cheap satellite constellations and space tourism.
Year ten: mass production of field propulsion vehicles begins. Adoption is resisted by authorities but ultimately becomes unstoppable.
Year twenty: first independent private colonies on the Moon and Mars. Asteroid mining fever.
Year twenty five: lunar coffee becomes extremely popular.
Year thirty: cost of life drops to zero, mass migration to new on- and off-planet colonies begins. Neo-conservationism, "geo-restoration."
Year one hundred: after seven decades of social experiments Terrans are finally ready to go out and explore the galaxy. Scientific bonanza boosts spiritual growth. "Need to know more."
