sure, but the RTO side isn't using logic or pragmatism. It's just "this is the way it has to be". So, when those things are abandoned by one side, I stop thinking that they are legit.
If you said to me, "I think we need everyone to come in for face time twice a year to keep the culture strong", I could buy into that. But that's not what the typical RTO C-suiters are doing.
