That's just it. It doesn't actually *hide* it. It just makes people unwilling to see it.

There are a lot of things about human nature I will never, ever understand, but this has been one of the ones that has shocked me most in my life. These people act openly as villains, criminals, etc etc right in the open, but people decide that they are good because they say so and they're not wearing a bandit mask, so it must be true.
